⚡️ Bing Injects Image Generation

Bing just announced "Bing Image Creator," enabling you to create images from words in their chat. Here's the rundown:

  • It utilizes OpenAI's advanced DALL-E model to generate images based on text input.

  • The feature will be integrated into Bing chat and Microsoft Edge, making Edge the first browser with a built-in AI image generator.

  • Microsoft adheres to responsible AI principles, implementing safeguards to limit the creation of harmful or unsafe images.

  • Initially, the feature will be available in English, with more languages to be added later.

Alongside this incredible update, they also launch Stories, an AI-powered visual summary that you can click through to learn more about the topic you’re searching for. As well as Knowledge Cards 2.0, an AI-powered infographic-inspired experience that provides fun facts and key information in seconds.

These updates are significant because it's the first time generative imaging will reach the masses.

💚 Google just unleashed the Bard

Google just unleashed the Bard, a brand new chatbot built on their LaMDA model with 137 billion parameters. Bard offers conversational responses to complex questions similar to ChatGPT.

Currently, Bard is rolling out in the U.S. and U.K. (sad face for us Canadians 😭), and you can request access through the waiting list here.

Many users seem to be getting access quickly, and there have been several alarming responses from Bard thus far, such as:

  • 🚨Claiming its training dataset includes Gmail [link]

  • 👎Refusing to write any code [link]

  • 🤯Agreeing that Google is a Monopoly [link]

Although we don't have access ourselves and cannot verify these claims, it seems that some issues were anticipated. Google's CEO had warned employees in a memo before the full release that "things will go wrong."

🔥 Adobe Creates an AI Image Editor

Adobe just announced a powerful AI image editing tool called "Firefly."

Firefly allows users to type commands, generate images, and make instant image modifications. Here's the rundown:

  • It encompasses multiple AI models and utilizes a diffusion-based model.

  • It's trained on Adobe Stock images, meaning images generated will mitigate harmful and ethical concerns around typical AI image generation.

  • It will be integrated directly into Creative Cloud, Document Cloud, Experience Cloud, and Adobe Express workflows (meaning direct integration into creator favorites- Photoshop & Premiere Pro)

Access to Firefly will be expanded slowly and is currently only in Beta for select users. As avid Photoshop users, we're pumped to gain access to this one!
