🥁 GPT-4 Rumours Continue

In our last email, we covered that the CTO of Microsoft Germany said that GPT-4 would be coming next week, as reported by this news source

If you missed it, the main hype surrounding it is that it will be multimodal, meaning it can turn text-to-video

Recently, though, there have been some more rumours spreading. Some AI enthusiasts suspect Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella may be making massive announcements at Microsoft's special event, “Reinventing productivity with AI,” on March 16th (Thursday) at 8 AM PST.

The event will be broadcast live here (bookmark it!), and millions will watch for the possible reveal!

While it is possible that this is the launch of GPT-4 (we hope), it's also possible that it could be an expected announcement of AI in Microsoft's 365 apps (Word, Powerpoint, and Excel).

🚗 GM's New ChatGPT-like Assistant

As per an article by Semafor, General Motors is developing a virtual personal assistant for its vehicles similar to ChatGPT.

The voice-activated chatbot will run on Microsoft's Azure cloud service, which has exclusive rights to OpenAI's technology.

The AI assistant will be able to answer questions such as how to change a flat tire or what a specific diagnostic light on the dashboard means

It will be interesting following this one. If implemented safely, it could enhance the overall driving experience for most.

🚨 Hong Kong University Bans ChatGPT

The University of Hong Kong has released guidelines stating that students who use AI tools, including ChatGPT, without proper authorization may be expelled.

The university is creating its own AI plagiarism detection software that can analyze students' work to detect originality.

The penalties for academic dishonesty involving AI tools include:

  • Complete review of assessments

  • A failing grade and lower degree classification

  • Suspension and or expulsion

This goes completely against the direction of Wharton University professor Ethan Mollick, who is embracing ChatGPT as a requirement for his class.
