The Rundown: Google is making their ChatGPT competitor, Bard, available in more than 40 languages and bringing it to the European Union after initial delays due to data privacy concerns.
Key features:
Listen to Bard's responses in all 40+ languages (text-to-voice)
Integration with Google Lens, enabling users to upload images with prompts (multimodal)
Adjust the tone and style of responses, choosing between simple, long, short, professional, or casual tones
Responses can be shared via links, allowing for broader collaboration and sharing of ideas
Available in over 40 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, German, Hindi, and Spanish, and in countries like Brazil and across Europe
Why it matters: Having Bard talk and respond to visual prompts feels like we’re living in the year 2050. Bard’s range of possibilities easily just doubled.

The Rundown: Stability AI, the startup behind Stable Diffusion, just released ‘Stable Doodle,’ a new tool that turns your sketches into images.
Details:
Accepts both a sketch and a descriptive prompt to guide the image generation process,
The quality of the output depends on the detail of the initial drawing and the prompt
Utilizes the latest Stable Diffusion model and the T2I-Adapter, a "conditional control solution"
Designed for both professional artists and novices, offering more precise control over image generation
Stability AI was last valued at $1 billion and reportedly aims to quadruple that value within the next few months
Our take: Not only is this really cool, but Stable Doodle will have real-world applications in various verticals, including real estate, in the future.
OPENAI

The Rundown: OpenAI has reached an agreement with The Associated Press (AP) to train its AI models on AP's news stories for the next two years, including content in AP's archive dating back to 1985.
Details:
AP will have access to OpenAI’s technology and product expertise, although specifics are not yet clear
AP has been utilizing AI since 2014, with applications in automated reporting about company earnings, Minor League Baseball, and college sports
OpenAI COO Brad Lightcap notes that AP's feedback and access to its high-quality, factual text archive will help improve OpenAI’s systems
Noteworthy: Despite the partnership, AP has clarified that it will not use AI technology in its news stories. Phew.
