The Rundown: More than 170,000 Hollywood actors and writers have gone on strike due to demands that AI will not replace jobs, along with increased pay and work guarantees.
Details:
The strike impacts major studios like Disney, Netflix, Amazon, and Sony
Movies affected by the strike include Beetlejuice 2, Deadpool 3, Gladiator 2, Mortal Kombat 2, Venom 3, and more
George Clooney, Matt Damon, Robert Downey Jr, Emily Blunt, Margot Robbie, Florence Pugh, Jason Sudeikis and Susan Sarandon are supporting the strikes
Industry experts warn that a long-term strike will significantly impact the entire internet
Why it matters: Multiple industries are already feeling the heat of AI, and we’re only just scratching the surface.
Hot tip: Force yourself to use AI tools every day and try a new tool every week. The more you use them, the more you will find systems to speed up your workflows.

META
The Rundown: Meta just released CM3leon, their new generative AI model that performs both text-to-image and image-to-text generation.
Key points:
It can generate sequences of text and images conditioned on any given sequence of other image and text content
Performance for text-to-image generation uses 5x times less compute power than previous transformer-based methods
Generates captions and answers any image-related question
It’s the first multi-modal model trained using a method from text-only language models
Noteworthy: Despite being trained on a smaller dataset (3B tokens), performance is comparable to larger models. Meta has been on AI fire lately.
AIR AI
The Rundown: Caleb Maddix just introduced Air AI on Twitter, a conversational AI that can perform full 5-40 minute long sales and customer service calls that sound replicable to humans.
Details:
Can autonomously perform actions across 5,000 unique applications
Adaptable to various roles such as sales development representative, customer service agent, account executive, and more, based on creative input
Currently being utilized on live calls, serving real people and businesses daily
Companies can request beta access to deploy an AI sales or customer service team
Why it matters: Unlike humans, AI does not take days off and never gets tired. The harsh reality is that some human jobs, such as customer service agents, will struggle to compete against AI.
Watch how realistic the demo video is.
