The Rundown: Gary Gensler, The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Chair, stressed the need for a regulatory overhaul on AI, stating that it could increase financial instability.
Key points:
Gensler states that AI is "the most transformative technology of our time"
Companies must ensure their use of AI doesn't breach securities rules
Publicly traded companies must not mislead investors through their statements and disclosures about the risks/opportunities of AI
The SEC reportedly plans to consider new rules on these issues as early as this fall

Researchers built models that generated scientifically promising "alien" hypotheses that are unlikely to be considered by humans until the distant future
Demonstrations suggest that AI is aware of human activity and can help push scientific understanding
The AI could predict future discoveries with a 400% improvement over models focused only on research content
The AI predicted with over 40% precision the actual people who would make these discoveries based on their experiences or relationships
Why it matters: The study shows how AI can turbocharge our scientific explorations, helping us make faster discoveries and even come up with brilliant ideas humans wouldn't naturally think of.

The Rundown: Wix, a popular template-based website builder, just unveiled their conversational AI website generator, which will let you create entire websites by typing a description into a box and answering a few questions.
Details:
Allows users to create a complete website, filled with text, images, and business solutions within seconds
