Microsoft just dropped massive updates to Bing Chat, including image and video answers, plugins (similar to ChatGPT), chat history, and a better Edge integration.
To top things off- they removed the entire waitlist, meaning anyone with a Microsoft account can access all these features for free. You can access Bing Chat using Edge or download the mobile app on iOS or Android.
Microsoft continues to push relentless updates to maintain the lead in the AI race. Did Microsoft Edge actually just kill Google Chrome?

AI can officially read minds. In a groundbreaking research paper by Nature, researchers developed a new AI method called CEBRA that translates brain signals into video.
The study involved inputting data from a mouse’s brain and a video to predict movement. The results:
Over 95% accuracy in frame prediction.
Highly similar latent (hidden) variables across different types of neural data (Neuropixels and 2-photon data).
Differences in performance across the visual system of the mouse.
The potential future applications of this research are literally mind-boggling and could open up new frontiers in our understanding of the brain using AI technology.
The UK and US governments are taking action toward regulation in response to growing concerns over AI's impact on society, such as misinformation and job displacement.
The UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has just initiated a review of the AI sector. At the same time, the US government just had a meeting at The White House with the most important executives in AI, urging tech firms to ensure the safety of their products.
The rapid advancement of AI technology and its potential risks underscore world leaders' urgent need for timely and effective regulation.
An anonymously shared Google document has just been leaked on a public Discord server. The identity of the Google researcher who authored the document has been verified, but it’s worth noting that it represents their personal opinion rather than the entire company’s stance.
The document highlights the growing influence of open-source AI models, which the source believes are outpacing both Google and OpenAI in terms of innovation and capability. The document quotes: “Plainly put, they [open source] are lapping us.“
In essence, the document calls for a shift in strategy for Google to harness the potential of open-source AI innovations. Who would’ve thought that good-ol’ open source may be one of the biggest competitors to dethroning mega techs’ lead in the AI race.

Robotic surgery is headed for the Nasdaq.
Dr. Doug Unis founded Monogram believing manual surgery and eyeball measurements wouldn’t cut it forever – still, that’s the majority of the $19.4B joint replacement industry today.
With 100,000 failed joint surgeries every year, we think the market needs an answer.
That’s why Dr. Doug is working to pioneer the first active navigated sagittal-cutting robot and 3D-printed custom implants.
