The White House is scheduled to meet with top executives from Google, Microsoft, OpenAI, and Anthropic to address the risks of AI.
The powerhouse gathering will include Alphabet CEO Sundar Pichai, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei, and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, aiming for discussions about potential risks and ways to mitigate them.
This comes after several tech leaders signed an Open Letter calling for a halt on AI development beyond GPT-4. Geoffrey Hinton, known as the "Godfather of AI," also recently left Google to warn the world of the dangers ahead.
Developing a balanced regulatory approach that safeguards against potential harm while allowing society to benefit from AI's potential is crucial right now.
Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google-owned AI lab DeepMind, predicted that AGI could be within our grasp in just a few years.
At a recent Wall Street Journal conference, Hassabis stated he didn't "see any reason" for AI's progress to slow down. However, he stressed the importance of pursuing AGI "in a cautious manner using the scientific method," involving rigorous experiments and testing.
This underscores the significance of the upcoming White House meeting, where experts will discuss AGI's potential societal impacts and address crucial ethical concerns of AI technology.

Crypto.com, one of the world's largest cryptocurrency platforms, just introduced its AI chatbot, "Amy."
Amy is an AI user assistant based on ChatGPT built to inform users about the crypto industry, including real-time token prices, projects, and historical events. This move follows Binance’s recent crypto chatbot ‘Sensei.‘
Blockchain companies are working hard to integrate AI tech into making crypto more accessible and engaging for users of all levels.
Portfolio Pilot, the first verified ChatGPT plugin for investing, just got released. Supported by hedge fund models, the plugin is already accessible to those with plugin access.
In this short demo, creator Alexander Harmsen goes through its features, including ETF searching, company comparison, portfolio importing, portfolio assessments, portfolio analytics, next investment suggestions, security details, and stock search.
All, of course, are made possible through our beloved ChatGPT. Keep in mind that depending solely on a chatbot plugin for financial advice is probably not advisable (and could earn you the label 'degen').
